I grew up in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley region with an innate curiosity and passion for the natural world. I am fascinated with prehistory and evolution with much of my focus on Australian vertebrate palaeontology. I previously completed my bachelors and an honours degree on Hypsiprymnodon (musky rat kangaroo) at аIJʹÙÍø. My PhD will focus on another enigmatic group of Australian marsupials the Pseudocheirids (ringtail possums). When I’m not studying I can be found exploring rock pools, walking through the bush or watching David Attenborough documentaries.

Project Description: During my PhD candidature I will be investigating the evolutionary history and palaeoecology of ringtail possums in the fossil record with a specific focus on the genus Pildra. Specifically, I will be describing a number of extinct Pseudocheirids (ringtail possums), examining their phylogenetic relationships and determining their utility for biostratigraphic correlation.
