Artist statement

Garden of Stolen Delights reimagines Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights (1503 - 1515) to explore the ecological devastation wrought by colonialism on Australia’s endemic landscapes and the tense coexistence of native and invasive species.

This work depicts a fragmented narrative of environmental collapse through suspended moments, exposing the lasting impact of colonial white washing as we stand and watch.
